Nick Starkel

2021 Fantasy Outlook
2020 was the year Starkel finally broke through after unsuccessful stints at Texas A&M and Arkansas. He joined San Jose State and led the Spartans to a Mountain West title, throwing for over 2,000 yards and 17 touchdowns over eight games, one of which he left due to injury. Starkel had help, though. Tre Walker and Bailey Gaither accounted for 46.5 percent of the target share, and now they're gone. So while Starkel is established and experienced, it'll be on him to elevate San Jose State's very green receiving corps. He could regress as a result, though the system will provide him with plenty of chances to rack up volume. Read Past Outlooks
Struggling since return
November 25, 2021
Starkel completed 19 of 29 passes for 138 yards with no touchdowns and one interception against Utah State.
ANALYSIS
It was an ineffective outing from Starkel as he notched his third start of the season with no passing touchdowns. He has thrown an interception in each game and his overall performance has declined from 2020 when he completed 64 percent of his passes at 8.6 YPA with 17 touchdowns over eight games. Starkel is completing 53 percent of his passes at 6.7 YPA with nine touchdowns and seven picks in six games this year. He faces Fresno State on Thanksgiving.
