Switches to defense
SNevada
April 18, 2019
Nevada has moved Cureton from quarterback to safety ahead of the 2019 season, Chris Murray of NevadaSportsNet.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cureton appeared in three games for Nevada as a true freshman in 2017, completing 20 of 38 attempts for three touchdowns, 123 yards and one interception. With Ty Gangi entering the past season as the clear top signal-caller on the roster, Cureton became buried on the depth chart and ended up taking a redshirt. Even with the Wolf Pack losing Gangi to graduation, Cureton apparently wasn't viewed as a serious successor, so he'll move to the other side of the ball and compete for a staring role in the secondary.
