Healthy heading into 2020
June 22, 2020
Brewer (neck) indicated in late May that he feels fully healthy and ready to go for the start of Baylor's training camp, John Werner of the Waco Tribune reports. "I feel great right now," Brewer said. "I've been on a workout program and I'm 100 percent. I feel like I'm in great shape."
ANALYSIS
In his third year as a starter for Baylor in 2019, Brewer turned in another strong statistical season (64.5 percent completion rate, 8.1 YPA, 21:7 TD:INT and 344 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns). If there was a nit to pick with Brewer, however, it would be his lack of durability; injuries forced him out of three of Baylor's final four games, including the Bears' Sugar Bowl loss to Georgia. The signal-caller would have been cleared for spring practices had the COVID-19 pandemic not resulted in the Bears cancelling their program, so he'll at least head into 2020 with a clean bill of health. Jacob Zeno and Gerry Bohanon loom as the next men up under center if injuries limit Brewer at any point during his senior season.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
The Bears ranked 34th in the nation at 6.4 yards per play and Brewer was a big reason why with his play-making ability. The dynamic quarterback ended the season on a tear with multiple scores in four of his last five games, including 493 total yards (384 passing and 109 rushing) and three scores versus Vanderbilt in the Texas Bowl. Baylor's offense should be even better in 2019 which means Brewer could have a huge fantasy year.
