DeVonta Smith

2020 Fantasy Outlook
Smith finished third in the SEC in receiving yardage (1,256) and touchdowns through the air last season (14), yet should receive even more opportunities now that Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs have taken their talents to the NFL. Mac Jones looked competent under center once Tua Tagovailoa went down due to injury, and Smith is now the undisputed No. 1 receiver for the Crimson Tide. Smith showed off his explosiveness, averaging nearly 18.5 yards per catch. He had perhaps the best single-game performance of any wideout last season, hauling in 11 passes for a staggering 274 yards and five touchdowns in a 59-31 triumph over Ole Miss. With good reason, Smith has been named a preseason All-American. Read Past Outlooks
Injures hand in title game
Hand
January 13, 2021
Smith missed the second half of Monday's national championship against Ohio State with an apparent right-hand injury, 247 Sports reports. "I'll be alright," Smith said after the game.
ANALYSIS
The Heisman Trophy winner was able to leave his stamp on Monday's title game in just one half of play as he caught 12 passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns before the injury. Smith is expected to be one of the first receivers off the board in this year's draft and it appears that his hand injury is minor.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Smith was the fifth-leading receiver for the Tide during the 2018 regular season, but found the end zone in three of Alabama's final five contests, including in the Playoff Semifinal win over Oklahoma in which he had six catches for 104 yards to lead the squad. He finished his sophomore campaign with 42 catches for 693 yards and six touchdowns. Alabama returns Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and Jaylen Waddle to the fold, though, and in a run-first offense the junior may have to fight for targets. Still, with Tua Tagovailoa spreading the ball around, Smith will have plenty of value.
