Competing during spring practice

Cooper has been impressive in his first spring practice but is behind redshirt sophomore Trey Tinsley, Theo Lawson of The Spokesman-Review reports.
Although Cooper is the most highly touted recruit to come to Washington State during the Mike Leach era, he still has his work cut out for him this year. Not only does he have to battle with a more experienced Tinsley, but he'll also be vying against graduate transfer Gardner Minshew once fall camp opens. In any case, Cooper is an intriguing name to keep an eye on that could be the quarterback of the future in Pullman, even if it's not in 2018.
