Remains atop depth chart
April 3, 2020
Shough exited spring practice atop Oregon's depth chart, James Crepea of The Oregonian reports. "We think Tyler Shough did an outstanding job. He entered spring as the starter. He leaves as the starter," coach Mario Cristobal said Friday.
ANALYSIS
The timing of Cristobal's quote is important given that Oregon recently added Boston College graduate transfer Antony Brown to the quarterback room. Shough has been waiting in the wings since he arrived in 2018 and still appears to be the heir apparent to Justin Herbert. However, Brown figures to push hard for the starting job once the Ducks resume football activities.
