Walters announced Monday that he'll transfer to Mississippi State, Tyler Horka of The Jackson Clarion-Ledger reports.
Walters becomes the second quarterback to join the Bulldogs since Mississippi State hired Mike Leach as its head coach earlier in the offseason, following in the footsteps of Stanford graduate transfer K.J. Costello. The ex-Vanderbilt quarterback, who completed two of nine attempts for 36 yards and an interception as a redshirt freshman last season, will head to Mississippi State with three years of eligibility left. He'll have to sit out the upcoming campaign unless he's granted a waiver from the NCAA.
