Entering draft
Not Injury Related
December 24, 2020
Jefferson announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he'll forgo his remaining eligibility at Oregon State to enter the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Jefferson set the school record for rushing yards in his freshman season, and then remained productive during his next two seasons with the Beavers. Over six games in 2020, the junior back carried 133 times for 858 yards and seven touchdowns. He'll now shift his attention toward preparing for the professional ranks, and he should be an appealing prospect after a successful collegiate career.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020
2019
Injuries slowed Jefferson in 2019 as he averaged just 4.8 YPC and was far less involved in the passing game with just nine catches in nine games. He still managed 10 total touchdowns but it was still a far cry from his freshman season in which he racked up 1,380 rushing yards and 12 scores on 5.8 YPC to go with 25 grabs for 147 yards. Oregon State has no proven options behind Jefferson in the backfield now that Artavis Pierce is gone, so the team will be leaning on him for as much as he can handle. If Jefferson avoids the injury bug, he could push for one of the biggest workloads in the nation. The injury-riddled 2019 will steer some drafters away from Jefferson, but his backers could be in for a huge payoff should he play 12 games.
It's difficult to recall many true freshman season as promising as Jefferson's last year, as he raced to 1,380 yards and 12 touchdowns (5.8 YPC) despite hitting the rookie wall a bit and enduring a hamstring tweak in October. He failed to score in the final six games, but that stretch contained some tough matchups and he still went over 100 yards three times. Now a sophomore, Jefferson should have the benefit of greater physical development to hopefully power through the second-half wall that slowed him as a true freshman. If he maintains his current trajectory, Jefferson should prove a dominant fantasy asset.
