Will compete for carries
July 23, 2018
Richardson will compete this year for some touches, Chris Vannini of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The Central Florida group of running backs is overall pretty young, but that doesn't mean the group isn't experienced. Only one of them, Taj McGowen, is a senior, but the team returns four backs from last season that took 45 carries or more. Richardson was one of the four, but he was at the bottom of that group with exactly 45 carries for 161 yards and two touchdowns, the lowest stats for all four backs in that group. He's likely to earn those touches again, but he has an uphill battle to pass the players ahead of him in McGowen, Otis Anderson and Adrian Killins if he wants to carve out a bigger role for himself.
