Declares for draft
Personal
December 6, 2020
Williams announced Sunday via his personal Twitter account that he will declare for the 2021 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
When he opted out of the 2020 season in October, Williams initially indicated that he planned to rejoin the Jayhawks for workouts in January. After taking the past month and a half to weigh his future, Williams apparently had a change of heart and will now get his professional career off the ground. Williams' speed should make him an appealing NFL prospect, but his size (5-foot-10, 170 pounds) could present some concerns for general managers about his durability.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2020
2019
Williams became just the second Jayhawk ever to record back-to-back 1,000 yard rushing seasons while accumulating 1,061 yards and three touchdowns on 203 carries despite missing the season-opener due to suspension. The versatile back is also excels pass-catching with 27 catches for 214 yards and two touchdowns on 31 targets, his second straight season with 27+ catches. With former teammates Khalil Herbert headed to Virginia Tech and Dominic Williams to Northern Iowa, Williams will receive the bulk of the carries and has a great shot at his third straight 1,000 yard season.
Williams ran in to some legal troubles in the off-season, but it's been decided that the dynamic play-maker will miss just one game to suspension. The then-freshman burst on the scene in 2018 with 1,125 yards and seven touchdowns on 161 carries (6.99 YPC) to go along with 33 catches for 289 yards (8.76 YPC) and two more scores. While he'll likely split carries with senior Khalil Herbert, there's no way new Head Coach Les Miles doesn't find ways to get Williams in to open space once he's served his suspension. With a strong offensive line, Pooka should have another superb season for fantasy purposes.
