2020 Fantasy Outlook
Pickens led the Bulldogs in all major receiving categories in 2019, and seemed to get better as his freshman season wore on. Pickens found the end zone in each of Georgia’s last four games, and his superb performance in the Sugar Bowl is perhaps a sign that he is emerging as a bona fide superstar. Pickens erupted with 12 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown in the 26-14 win over Baylor. The one question mark for Pickens and the Georgia offense will be who lines up under center with the departure of Jake Fromm. Graduate transfer Jamie Newman from Wake Forest seems to be the frontrunner, but USC transfer JT Daniels should also figure into the mix, as will redshirt junior Stetson Bennett. Read Past Outlooks
Torn ACL confirmed
Knee
March 24, 2021
Pickens suffered a torn ACL in Tuesday's practice and will soon undergo surgery, Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald. "The good news is that the MRI showed it to be an isolated injury with no other structures involved," head coach Kirby Smart said.
ANALYSIS
Pickens' injury is a major blow to Georgia's receiver room, as he was projected to be the team's No.1 option out wide. A timetable for Pickens' return will be available once he undergoes surgery, but he'll likely have a tough time gaining clearance for the start of the season. Jermaine Burton, Kearis Jackson, and Dominick Blaylock now project to be Georgia's top three receivers going into the season.
