Ends playing career
Beatty (concussion) announced Monday that he has decided to forgo his remaining eligibility at Temple and call an end to his playing career, A.J. Sisco of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
ANALYSIS
Beatty, a redshirt sophomore, was called into the starting lineup in 2020 after top quarterback Anthony Russo went down with an injury (and later transferred). After playing two games, Beatty suffered a season-ending injury of his own in the form of a concussion. Beatty indicated that the brain injury solidified his decision to move on from football, but he'll remain enrolled at Temple and earn his degree this spring. Over his three seasons with the program, Beatty completed 17 of 27 attempts (63 percent) for 230 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
