Doege was a reliable starter for the Mountaineers in 2020 while completing 63.9 percent of his passes for 2,587 yards and 14 touchdowns versus just four interceptions. He was pulled after a bad first half in the team's bowl game in favor of Austin Kendall, yet is still projected to be the starter this season. There is some caution with Doege as West Virginia is expected to lean heavily on their running back Leddie Brown, a 1,000 yard rusher in 2020, and also has a sneaky good defense. If forced to throw the ball, he does have some talented receivers in Winston Wright, Bryce Ford-Wheaton, T.J. Simmons, and Sam James.
