Barbir announced Monday that he's no longer a member of the Liberty football team, Jon Manson of ASeaofRed.com reports.

Barbir converted on one of his four field-goal attempts this season before losing out on the Flames' placekicking job to freshman Brayden Beck following Liberty's Week 4 loss to Syracuse. The Flames had still been using Barbir as their kickoff specialist after he was removed as the placekicker, but Jason Stricker unseated him for those duties during last week's win over North Texas. With special teams coordinator Tanner Burns announcing that Barbir is moving on from football, the senior likely seemingly won't pursue a transfer elsewhere ahead of the 2022 campaign.
