Returns to Sooners
Stogner announced Thursday via his personal Twitter account that he has committed to Oklahoma, joining the program as a graduate transfer from South Carolina.
ANALYSIS
Stogner will close out his collegiate career where he started it, as he spent three years in Norman from 2019 through 2021 before joining South Carolina ahead of the 2022 campaign. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound served as a key short-area target for quarterback Spencer Rattler during his lone season in Columbia, logging 20 receptions for 210 yards and a touchdown while appearing in all 12 regular-season contests. In his return to Oklahoma, Stogner will be joining an unfamiliar coaching staff, as Brent Venables took over as the Sooners' head coach following Lincoln Riley's departure for USC after the 2021 season. As such, Stogner could have a different role than he held in his prior three years at Oklahoma, when he served as both a tight end and an H-back.
