Camar Wheaton

Wheaton is the wild card on this list but there’s reason to believe he’s deserving of being on it. A consensus five-star in 2021, Wheaton did not get on the field in his freshman season at Alabama due in part to a meniscus injury. He now becomes one of the most talented players on SMU, let alone in its backfield. Now, SMU will likely stay pass-happy under Rhett Lashlee, but Wheaton should see a heavy share of the rushing work available and should have explosive per-carry production against AAC defenses. Wheaton is the SMU back to target even if Tre Siggers still has a role.
