Saunders is no longer with the West Virginia football program due to an undisclosed medical issue, Mike Casazza of the Charleston Gazette-Mail reports.
ANALYSIS
The 6-foot-1 signal caller out of Panama City Beach, Florida spent his first year with the Mountaineers as a redshirt, but appears to have been dealing with a medical issue and isn't going to risk his long term health by continuing his football career. He'll unfortunately have to hang up his cleats after a short stint in West Virginia, but is expected to remain at the school as a student and finish his degree.
