Sawyer announced that he's decided to transfer out of the TCU program, Jimmy Burch of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

ANALYSIS
Sawyer started in place of an injured Kenny Hill in a game against Kansas State in December, but saw only limited snaps the rest of the season. With Hill set to return in 2017 and presumably maintain his standing as the starting quarterback, Sawyer will pursue an opportunity elsewhere. Per NCAA rules, Sawyer would have to sit out the entire 2017 season before returning to the field in 2018.
