Greene's passing output during the 2023 season as the Mountaineers' signal-caller didn't leave viewers in Heisman-level awe, tallying 2,406 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions. However, his 772 yards rushing and 13 rushing touchdowns bolstered his fantasy perception, and rightly so. Greene will lose his top pass catcher Devin Carter but will otherwise return to Morgantown alongside most of his supporting cast from the 2023 season. The Mountaineers also added to the wideout depth with transfer receiver Jaden Bray from Oklahoma State. Even if Greene's passing production lags a bit compared to others near the top of quarterback boards, his running capabilities should keep his name among the first off the board at his position during 2024 fantasy drafts. Greene was 17-for-23 passing for 236 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 49-14 win versus Albany. He also had seven rushes for 68 yards with one touchdown.
ANALYSIS
After a disappointing opening loss to Penn State, Greene responded with a strong performance against the Great Danes. He racked up four total touchdowns, something he did on four different occasions in the 2023 season. He was electric on the ground at 9.7 yards per carry. Greene and the Mountaineers will take on Pittsburgh next week.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Greene is currently in a quarterback battle with Nicco Marchiol as HC Neal Brown tries to figure out which guy gives him a better shot at keeping his job. With all five starters back on the offensive line, he may want to go with Greene who has a knack for running the ball. In three starts to end the year, the dual-threat quarterback rushed for 183 yards and four touchdowns. The team has historically relied heavily on the run-game, and they recently promoted their running backs coach Chad Scott to offensive coordinator. The Mountaineers are not likely to contend for a conference title, but they could have some fantasy relevance if they have players with heavy rushing volume.
