Walker announced April 26 via his personal Twitter account that he elected to transfer from Georgia Southern.

According to the biography section of his Twitter account, Walker has since joined Iowa Central Community College. He plans to graduate from the JUCO school in December, which would allow him to return to the FBS ranks in 2020 with two years of eligibility remaining. Walker saw limited action during his two seasons at Georgia Southern, taking a redshirt for one of those years and totaling 17 yards on seven carries over his 11 appearances with the Eagles.
