Bergeron has enrolled at Texas A&M-Commerce and plans to play football, CBS Sports reports.

ANALYSIS
Bergeron was dismissed from the Longhorns for undisclosed rules violations late July, but has chosen to use his last year of eligibility at a school that is just 60 miles from his home town. Bergeron will not be much of a factor to watch in most leagues because Commerce is a D-II school, but he'll get a glance from NFL scouts leading up to the 2015 NFL Draft.

Texas will enter the season with three outstanding options at running back. Last season, freshman Johnathan Gray (701 yards, three touchdowns) and sophomore Joe Bergeron (567 yards, 16 touchdowns) split carries, with Malcolm Brown (324 yards, four touchdowns) working his way into the fold at times. It remains to be seen which of the three, if any, will emerge as the primary ball-carrier in 2013. Both Gray and Brown were very highly-touted recruits, but Bergeron has shown he is capable of shouldering the load.

Bergeron goes into 2012 coming off a strong freshman season, when he ran for 463 yards and five touchdowns. Bergeron goes into training camp not knowing what his role will be for the upcoming season, however. Fellow sophomore Malcolm Brown had 100 more carries than him last year, and the arrival of five-star recruit Johnathan Gray poses another obstacle to Bergeron. He's generally only worth monitoring outside of Big-12-only leagues.
