It's never fun to be the guy after the guy, but Moulton could be in a position to thrive in the spotlight. Replacing the production of Kaleb Johnson is certainly a tough task, but Moulton showed flashes of ability in 2024 as a secondary ballcarrier that should give Hawkeye fans reason for optimism, putting together 473 yards and three touchdowns on 5.6 yards per attempt. With South Dakota State transfer Mark Gronowski taking over under center, the Iowa offense could prove more explosive than in years past, allowing Moulton to blossom in his new role at the head of the backfield. While Moulton had a productive season with the Hawkeyes in 2025, he never really put together any trademark performances, failing to cross 100 yards in a game the entire season. The 5-foot-9 running back didn't wait long to make his mark in 2026, coming right out of the gate with a career-high 183 yards on a ridiculous 16.6 YPC to go along with a pair of touchdowns against NIU. Moulton could not be stopped all day and managed to carry this Iowa offense to a blowout victory on just 11 total touches. A rivalry matchup against Iowa State awaits on Saturday.
