Hilliard (shoulder) will miss the rest of the regular season, the Times-Picayune's Jim Kleinpeter reports.

ANALYSIS
The senior running back will miss the Tigers' final two games, but might be able to play in the team's bowl game. Leonard Fournette remains the back to own in the LSU backfield, and those that had been using Hilliard in full-season leagues can now cut ties.

Hilliard’s stock depends on the status of Jeremy Hill, who is suspended indefinitely after a legal incident this offseason. In 12 games as Hill’s backup last season, Hilliard rushed for 464 yards and six touchdowns (5.7 yards per carry). If Hill misses significant time, Hilliard will enter the fall as the team’s top backup at running back, and perhaps the primary goal-line runner.

Hilliard was quite impressive in the second half of 2011, totaling eight touchdowns in the final seven weeks and posting a rushing average of 5.4 yards per carry despite emerging as perhaps the team's top goal-line runner. Hilliard's size and power stands out among LSU's runners, but his fantasy value is unfortunately muted by the team's incredibly crowded backfield.
