Kevin Newsome

Replacing Daryll Clark will not be an easy task for Newsome, but he'll get the first crack at securing the starting quarterback job for the Lions. Newsome has good physical skills and is a good athlete, so he'll be able to take off and run a little bit when things break down in the pocket. Newsome does not have much experience and struggled throwing the ball during the offseason. So while he will start initially, don't be surprised to see fellow sophomore Matt McGloin get a shot if Newsome struggles early in the season.
