Thomas exceeded expecations as a freshman at Minnesota with 824 yards and six touchdowns on 166 carries to go with six catches for 44 yards in nine games while filling in for an injured Mohamed Ibrahim and Trey Potts. He now joins a backfield at Kansas that has Devin Neal who also had an impressive freshman campaign in 2021 and Nebraska transfer, Sevion Morrison, who played in six games as a freshman. Expect Thomas, Neal and Morrison to all receive significant work during the 2022 season.
