Kyle Prater

Prater was a high profile transfer from USC (where many analysts had him as a top-five recruit), but he was slowly integrated into Northwestern's offense. He was targeted in the red zone several times, but had just ten receptions and no touchdowns. A Northwestern passing game that was more run oriented than expected may also limit his opportunities. With his size (6-5), he's a player that could make a big impact in 2013 if he finds more playing time.

Prater may be the most highly-touted prospect to land at Northwestern in recent memory. Many analysts had him as top-five overall recruit when he joined USC, but he sat out his freshman season with injures (a fractured his left foot and surgery on his pinkie) and later transferred to Northwestern. It's not clear if he'll be eligible for the 2012 season as Northwestern was seeking a waiver this summer to let him play. If he does suit up, he has the size (6-5) to be a matchup problem for most defenses and could quickly emerge as the top target in a high-volume passing offense.
