As the first game of the season draws near, Arizona State officially named their starting quarterback, and it was not Tyson. Florida transfer Emory Jones won the quarterback battle over Tyson, who will now spend another season of college football riding the bench. The redshirt junior saw the most action of his career in 2021 for Alabama when he appeared in five games and threw 10 completions for 150 yards.
