Cemented into backup role
Smith is in line to backup Lynn Bowden for the remainder of the season after it was announced Monday that Lynn Bowden would be the team's definitive starter moving forward, Josh Moore of the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.
ANALYSIS
Smith has not received a start since he injured his shoulder against South Carolina back in Week 5. The junior quarterback was able to return to action against Missouri a few weeks back but has only thrown the football five times for a total of 25 yards in three games. Lynn Bowden is a dangerous duo-threat quarterback option and keeps opposing defenses on their heels at all times. He will be the one to lead the offense for the final two games of the season and can hopefully send the Wildcats to another bowl game in 2019.
