Stanley Morgan

Morgan returns to Lincoln for his junior campaign in 2017 after finishing second on the team in receptions (33) and receiving yards (453). He also tied with two others for the second-most touchdown catches, while Jordan Westerkamp led the way in all three categories. Westerkamp graduated after 2016, along with two of the other top-four wideouts (Brandon Reilly and Alonzo Moore), opening the top of Nebraska's receiver depth chart for Morgan to grasp. He didn't have many standout games during his sophomore campaign, but he did catch three passes for 93 yards and a touchdown against Indiana and added five grabs for 58 yards against Wisconsin. The departure of Tommy Armstrong leaves a void at the starting quarterback position, but it will likely be filled by Tulane transfer Tanner Lee. Lee doesn't possess the running skills of Armstrong, but should be an improvement in the passing game. The culture change under center should result in additional pass plays in 2017, which will likely benefit Morgan.
