2023 Receiving Projections
2023 Fantasy Outlook
As part of a deep and relatively unproven receiving corps, Xavier Restrepo likely presents as Miami’s safest option from a fantasy perspective, provided he’s healthy. Restrepo opened 2022 with 11 catches and 172 yards in the ‘Canes first two games, then promptly missed five straight and failed to get on track afterwards. Working in his favor is the hire of new offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, who will spread things out in an air raid style attack. Miami has no proven options on the outside and likely will rotate options there awaiting someone’s emergence. But Restrepro’s role underneath appears secure. He’s got good rapport with QB Tyler Van Dyke, can provide that security in the middle of the field and make things happen after the catch. The upside is likely tide to his volume, as Restrepo likely won’t be targeted often downfield. While the rest of this unit offers more upside, Restrepo is the safest bet to lead Miami in targets and catches, if not receiving yards too. Read Past Outlooks

ANALYSIS
Restrepo was one of Tyler Van Dyke's favorite targets Friday, securing second best receiving yard and catch totals while tying Jacolby George for the team high in targets. Despite scoring 38 points on the day, the Hurricanes only found paydirt once through the air, with Van Dyke finding Colbie Young for a 44-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
