RotoWire Fantasy Analysis
Thakur was named Man of the Match after snapping up four for 27 off four overs in Monday's T20I victory over Sri Lanka.
After making his T20I debut less than a month ago at Centurion against South Africa, Thakur hadn't taken multiple wickets in a match and in 38 T20s coming into Monday's fixture, had taken three wickets just three times-all of which came in last season's IPL. However, the 26-year-old found his line and length and after being helped out by some phenomenal fielding by Suresh Raina in the third over, knocked out Thisara Perera in the 12th and then closed out his four-for with a double-strike to close out the 19th over.

Fantasy AnalysisThe right-arm pacer is highly rated in the country's cricket circle, and on Friday, he proved his credentials once again by a brilliant spell of fast bowling. Thakur was given his first chance on the tour, and the 26-year-old grabbed the opportunity with both hands by removing veteran opener Hashim Amla and stand-in captain Aiden Markram early to hand the Men in Blue a massive advantage in the game. With the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami and others in the team, Thakur's chances will not come easy. But the team management will be hoping that the Palghar-born pacer will continue to deliver whenever the opportunity arises, just like he did in the last game of the series.
Fantasy AnalysisThe 25-year-old had just made his international debut last week, taking one for 26 in his maiden ODI, but with four seamers in the squad, Thakur found himself the odd-man out amongst a group that includes Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvi Kumar and the new additions of Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami.
Fantasy AnalysisThakur started his day by removing Australia international Shaun Marsh for 10 but ended it with a double-strike that removed Rahul Tewatia and Punjab captain Glenn Maxwell, for a duck. The 25-year-old medium pacer bowled a match-high 16 dot balls to go along with his match-best figures. This is Thakur's best bowling figures of the season eclipsing his 3/35 he took in mid-April.
Fantasy AnalysisWhile the 24-year-old has extensive experience at the First-class level, Thakur has no top-level international caps to his name in any format. While he acquitted himself well against the WICB President's XI at Basseterre and has played with the India A squad, the selectors opted to go with a more experienced squad for the upcoming three-match series. Thakur and Stuart Binny are the only two who were left out of the squad from the 17 that traveled to the Caribbean for the series against the West Indies.
