Shirzad has named as the replacement for Aftab Alam, who is under investigation by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) for the alleged misconduct off the field by which he was sent back from England following his breach of ICC's disciplinary code of conduct. Moreover, Shirzad replacement has been approved by ICC's Event Technical Committee (ETC).
