Impressive in close loss to Rise Nation
Matt played better than his 87/85 KD indicated in the tough opening match loss to Rise Nation
ANALYSIS
Matt was a very busy and important player in Apotheon's near upset of Rise Nation to open Call of Duty XP. He was a constant on the hill in Round 1 Hardpoint for his team, ending with a team-high 1:48 of Hardpoint time. He put his slaying skills to good use, with a nice double kill to take the Hardpoint at a key moment in the match. Matt struggled mightily in Round 2 Search & Destroy, ending with a poor 3/9 KD; he simply could not get any momentum, or string together any runs. However, he had a nice turnaround in Round 3 Uplink, going 24/18, and had an intelligent use of Heat Wave to stop a run. He started to see Apotheon pull away from Rise Nation with his 5-3 dunk as well. He came out of the gate extremely aggressive in Round 4 Capture the Flag, pushing the envelope early and often and trying to get points as early as he could. He forced overtime with his smart play and defense of his base, and won the game in overtime with a 42-second flag pull. Matt had a solid Round 5 Search & Destroy, winning game one for his team, albeit in vain as they lost to Rise Nation.
