Leaving for NBA
Avdija announced Thursday in an appearance on ESPN's "Get Up" that he'll make himself eligible for the 2020 NBA Draft, Jonathan Givony of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Avdija's decision to leave Maccabi Tel Aviv for the NBA comes as little surprise, as the 19-year-old, playmaking forward is widely viewed as one of the top international prospects in the draft. Though he played more of a supporting role for the Israeli club in EuroLeague play, Avdija still acquitted himself reasonably well versus much older competition, averaging 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 14.3 minutes per game over his 26 appearances (five starts). Per Sportando, Avdija indicated that he will close out the season with Maccabi before moving on for the NBA.
