McRae will undergo left shoulder surgery Monday, effectively ending his season. Furthermore, the team decided to part ways with McRae, as both parties agreed to terminate the rest of his contract.
ANALYSIS
McRae had been battling a shoulder injury since mid-September, and was only able to appear in three Euroleague games for the club this season. Baskonia's team doctor Mikel Sanchez will helm the procedure, and an estimated timetable for his recovery was set at five months by the team. Moving forward, McRae will look to find a new home once he's back to full health, as the former Tennessee Volunteer could try to make it back into the NBA after last playing for the Cavs in 2016-17.
