Lasme's dismissal was fully anticipated following Panathinaikos' addition of fellow American big man Adreian Payne. With Payne in the fold, the team had more than the maximum six non-Greek players on the roster, leaving no room for Lasme. The 36-year-old won't be eligible to join another EuroLeague team in 2018-19 by virtue of appearing after the 15th round of the regular season, so he'll presumably look for work at a lower-level league somewhere overseas.
