Backup receiver who might have to fight just to make the team, and even if he does it'll be for his special teams prowess.
Martin, signed in late August, has made the Bills' final roster. He'll probably be starting out as a fifth or sixth wideout, though the only real locks on this team are Steve Johnson as the No. 1 wideout and Roscoe Parrish as the slot guy. There's room to advance here if Martin keeps impressing or some of the younger wideouts fail. UPDATE: Martin was released by the Bills a few days ahead of the 2011 season.
Martin seemingly has little chance to make the Seattle roster. It'll likely come down to numbers. If the Seahawks keep six wideouts, he has hope. Even then, it'll take a huge camp and/or injuries to his teammates.
Martin would probably contend for a No. 3 receiver on a few other rosters, but Green Bay’s receiver group is so talented that he is relegated to No. 5 status. He’s averaged right around 250 yards in his three NFL seasons, which isn’t enough to make him worth considering even in deep leagues. His size and toughness make him a valuable player for blocking and special teams work, but not from a fantasy perspective.
Martin had 16 receptions and four touchdowns in 2007. He'll fight for a roster spot in a crowded field of wide receivers, but will spend the majority of his time on special teams.
Martin left a lasting impression on Packer fans in the final game of the regular season where he caught seven passes for 118 yards. He's among the slew of Packers competing for the No. 3 or No. 4 receiver position, but he'll likely get the most playing time out of the group.
