Brock Purdy Injury: Won't start even if active

Purdy (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, but Mac Jones will start even if Purdy is active, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Purdy, if active, would merely be the No. 2 quarterback, with a return to the starting role perhaps ahead Week 11. For now, Jones will get at least one more start, leading San Francisco's offense into a highly anticipated NFC West showdown.
