Tyler Shough News: Loses QB competition

Shough will begin the regular season as the backup to Spencer Rattler, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

The duo spent the preseason in a prolonged competition for the Week 1 starting gig, but on Tuesday, coach Kellen Moore named Rattler his Week 1 starter. It may not be long before Shough gets a chance to take the field though, if Rattler struggles to move the offense consistently. New Orleans' investment of a second-round pick in Shough during the 2025 Draft also gives the team plenty of incentive to give him a longer look this season.
