RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks
There was no outlook written for Kevin Johnson.
Johnson had a successful rookie season, starting 10 games and appearing in all 16 and finishing seventh in tackles with 54. He’s working his way back from two offseason surgeries – one on his wrist and the other his foot. He’s regaining his health during training camp and has improved with each passing day. The second-year veteran from Wake Forest is probably the most physical cornerback on the roster and will be the third DB, which in today’s NFL is nearly every down. Expect improved play during his second season as he gains a better understanding of the defense.
Johnson, Houston's first-round draft pick in 2015, will spend the first season learning from veteran starters Jonathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson. As he learns, we suspect we'll see more and more of him as the team's nickel back.
