RotoWire's Preseason Outlooks

2018

There was no outlook written for Aaron Burbridge.

2017

Despite earning accolades for his tremendous senior year at Michigan State in 2015, Burbridge barely sniffed the field in his first full season as a pro. This is especially disappointing when you consider the horrid state of the 49ers passing game last year. The 23-year-old was a draft pick of former GM Trent Baalke, so he will have to prove his worth during camp or risk being cut by the regime in San Francisco that holds no ties to the wideout.

2016

Burbridge was Michigan State's leading receiver in 2015 (85 catches, 1,258 yards, seven touchdowns) and earned Big Ten Receiver of the Year honors. Despite the accolades, the sixth-round pick doesn't project to be a major contributor at the pro level due to his lack of size and breakaway speed. He's a candidate to start the season on the 49ers' practice squad but could enter the fray as a slot receiver if Bruce Ellington falters or gets injured.
