Finneran enters his 10th season and will likely be the team's fourth receiver.
Finneran will have to fight for a roster spot as the team's No. 5 receiver, but he did that successfully in 2008 and should have the upper hand.
Finneran is a big question mark to see the field in any major capacity after missing the past two seasons with continuing knee complications. Finneran once had missile speed off the snap and was a reliable target in the Michael Vick era, but his injuries make him a No. 4 receiver at best for 2008.
Finneran will miss the entire 2007 following off-season reconstructive knee surgery. This will be the second consecutive season that he will miss due to injury. Finneran used to be a solid receiver for the Falcons, but two consecutive seasons of injuries to the same knee leave his future with the team, and in the NFL, in doubt.
Placed on IR in July 2006 after tearing ACL and dislocating his knee.
Finneran finished with only two touchdowns and 258 yards in 2004, then the Falcons went out and spent another first-round selection on a wide receiver. Finneran is buried on the depth chart but still is the team's tallest wide receiver - that may good for another two touchdowns this year.
Provides a big target for Michael Vick, and will compete for touches behind Peerless Price with Dez White and Michael Jenkins. More of a possession receiver than anything else.
The Falcons seem content to take the good with the bad with Finneran -- they like his blocking and his size (6-5, 210), but he also dropped too many passes during 2002. While Finneran probably won't be able to build on last year's numbers (56 catches, 838 yards, six touchdowns) now that Peerless Price is around, he's nonetheless not a bad support receiver in deeper leagues.
