Announced his retirement the first day of training camp, but the team remains hopeful Roaf, an 11-time Pro Bowler, will change his mind.
Roaf will be the Chiefs' starting left tackle this year.
Roaf showed no signs of slowing down in 2003, aside from a case of gout. The 34-year-old has been all the Chiefs could have asked for when they picked him up from New Orleans several years ago. The perennial Pro Bowler should continue to open holes for Priest Holmes in 2004.
