Jacobs was cut by Denver on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
He wasn't going to be anything more than the fifth wideout in Denver anyways, but he might get recycled from the waiver-wire scrapheap by another club willing to take a flier in the coming weeks.

In the mix to be the team's fifth or sixth wide receiver.
Will start the season as the fifth wide receiver in the Redskins offense... a job that is not worth much. Jacobs has been a disappointment since draft day. He stay with the team may come to an end in 2006.
Jacobs has an opportunity to be the number three wide receiver on the Redskins' depth chart, competing with James Thrash, Kevin Dyson, and Darnerien McCants for the spot. A lot of coaches and players believe this will be his breakout year, but even so, this will probably not translate into much fantasy value on the 29th ranked passing offense in 2004. Taylor will not only have to shake his competition but also the injury bug that has plagued him in his first two seasons in the league.
Jacobs sat out most of 2003 with an abdominal injury, and now that his college coach Steve Spurrier is gone, expect him to see very little playing time in 2004 unless he can endear himself to Joe Gibbs as a legitimate deep threat. As of now, he will battle Cliff Russell for fifth on the depth chart at wide receiver.
Starts the year as team's fourth receiver, behind Pat Johnson. Of course with Steve Spurrier, this could all change in five minutes.
