Manning proved to be a great addition to the Bears last year, setting a career high in interceptions with five while also picking up two sacks. The former Panther once again will serve as Chicago's nickel cornerback and is fully capable of replacing one of the starting CBs if needed.

After their secondary embarrassed itself during last year's playoff loss to Carolina, the Bears went out and signed Manning in the offseason to bolster the weak unit. Manning, who had nine interceptions in his three years with the Panthers, is expected to be the team's nickel back and may see some time at the cornerback positions as well.

Manning has playmaker written all over him. Playing all 16 games in his rookie season, starting only seven, he recorded 48 solo tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and seven passes defended. What he's best known for, however, are his four postseason picks, including three dazzlers against Philly. He'll start all year with both of Carolina's previous starters gone, and is as good a bet as any cornerback to rival safeties in fantasy points. At 5-9 he'll never completely be the shutdown corner Champ Bailey is, but that means quarterbacks will still pass his way and give him tackle chances.

Carolina's 2003 third-round draft pick is small but speedy and enters camp on the third string.
