He should be the Browns' opening day starter at defensive end.
If he can recover completely from an achilles injury which sidelined him for the entire 2008 season, he will provide a boost to the Browns' pass rush.
He had a solid season in 2008, but could see his playing time diminished with the offseason additions of Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams.

Smith should be one Houston's starting defensive tackles.
Smith will start at defensive end for the Texans. Head coach Dom Capers asked all of his defensive linemen to show up lighter this year. Lighter means quicker, and that's the defensive mantra this year.
Smith will start at defensive end opposite Gary Walker. He'll be making the shift from defensive tackle in a 4-3 system to defensive end in a 3-4 scheme.
