ANALYSIS
With the Patriots having also waived Terrence Miller on Wednesday, only Steve Maneri remains among the trio of tight ends recently added by the team. The moves leaves Rob Gronkowski, Michael Hoomanawanui, D.J. Williams and Maneri as the team's current options at the position, with the report also suggesting that fullback James Develin could also enter the equation.

Hartsock is known for his blocking and will backup Greg Olsen at tight end.
Will primarily be used as a run blocker, with Greg Olsen getting most of the looks in the passing game from the tight end spot.
Hartsock will be primarily used as a blocking tight end, especially with Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey ahead of him on the depth chart.

Blocking tight end who will compete for the No. 2 job this summer, but still likely won't get many balls thrown his way.
Third TE who will mostly block.
