Jones can play both guard and tackle, giving him a chance to hook on with the team as a backup.
Jones has not started a game since 2005, but he’ll enter training camp as the leading candidate to start at right guard. Kansas City’s offensive line was a disaster last season and it’s unlikely they’ll be substantially better in 2008.

Jones, who is slated to start at right tackle, played on the left side for only one year in college and is playing on the right side for the first time. "He's doing well," Jets coach Herman Edwards said. "He's taking a lot of reps and has been with the (rest of the line) since the spring. He's learning how to play. That's all you can ask a guy to do.
