Moats, who was waived by the Vikings last season, remains without a team through five weeks of 2011.
ANALYSIS
Moats hasn't had a carry since 2009 and is going to be 29 in December, so even with a lot of running backs getting injured around the league, his name isn't popping up with any teams with openings.

Moats and Chris Brown will get plenty of looks during training camp as the leaders in the battle to be Steve Slaton's backup. Houston head coach Gary Kubiak doesn't want to give Slaton a heavy workload, so there's an opportunity for Moats, among other running backs. Brown has the size that Kubiak is looking for, but whoever consistently produces, despite size, will win the job.
Has been a bust and likely to be cut.
Moats has fallen out of favor with Philadelphia's coaching staff, and it would be no surprise if he were traded or cut before the season started. If not, he's unlikely to climb any higher than fourth on the Eagles' RB depth chart.
Moats’ game is speed – pure, blinding, game breaking, straight-line speed. Give him the corner and you better pray your safety has a good angle. What Moats lacks, however, are things that make for a good NFL back like elusiveness and toughness. As a caddy for Brian Westbrook, he’s not so much a change of pace as a player you can plug in when Westbrook needs a breather and not have to alter the playbook. In that role he can excel; if pressed into duty as a starter, however, he’ll probably be exposed. The key to his fantasy value in deep leagues will be whether the Eagles can get him more involved in the passing game.
Moats, a quick and shifty runner, has an opportunity to gain significant playing time with the fragile Correll Buckhalter ahead of him on the depth chart. With great hands, he can excel in the west coast scheme.
