The Lions have signed Miller prior to Monday night's game with the Bears, Anwar Richardson of MLive.com reports.

The Lions released LB Doug Hogue to make room for Miller, who will help alleviate Detroit's shortage at corner.

The Lions signed Miller for depth during training camp. He hasn't played meaningful defensive snaps for six years.

Miller will compete for a return specialist job with the Cards this season after being signed by the team in May. Beyond that, his role in the secondary is next to nothing, so he'll have to prove that he can help win the field position battle in order to solidify a roster spot during camp.

Miller will battle Stanford Routt for the nickle back position in the Raiders' defense. Expect the loser to be the team's dime back.

Miller is in line to start at cornerback though, with zero career interceptions, it's hard to give him any consideration in IDP leagues of any depth.
